Rick has spent the last 20 + years in franchise and business operations, where he has held several senior leadership roles. He is highly skilled in building rapport with clients and has the ability analyze and create new operational systems which create efficiencies within an organization.
Prior to joining FranchiseWell, Rick was the Chief Operating Officer of Zerorez Franchise Systems, based out of Salt Lake City, Utah for approximately 4 years. In that time, he facilitated a complete re-creation and implementation of all departments systems. He oversaw the creation of a National Brand Fund, a Marketing Advisory Committee, and a Franchise Advisory Council. In those years, ZFS grew from 32 location with $67M in systems sales to 57 locations with revenues exceeding $114M.
During his last years at ZFS, Rick and Diane moved back to Dallas Texas to be closer to their elderly mothers and was asked to continue to operate as COO for ZFS as well as provide oversight to Zerorez DFW, the 4 th largest franchise in the Zerorez system. After the 1 st year of managing both roles, his oversight grew to partial ownership and expanded operational duties, he stepped down from his COO role. Over the next 5 ½ years he was able to implement new systems in each department, which allowed the franchise to go from a net loss of $89K in his first year, to a net income of 1.1M in 2021. In 2022, Zerorez Franchise Systems and 8 of the largest more profitable franchisees, including Zerorez DFW was sold to a VC firm, The Banner Group.
Rick holds an Executive Master of Business Administration from Houston Baptist University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Abilene Christian University. He also received his Certificate of Franchise Management from Georgetown University in 2009 and his as well as his Certified Franchise Executive Certification from the International Franchise Association in 2006.
Rick has been happily married to his wife Diane for over 30 years and has two daughters, Alyssa and Jordan have blessed them recently with 2 beautiful grandchildren. Rick enjoys hiking, rock climbing, snow skiing and golf and is also trying to be the best “Pops” he can be to his grandkids.
